The second edition of CENTR's new Tech Trends Watch is out!
CENTR is excited to share the second edition of its new publication, the Tech Trends Watch, which aims to give an overview of current and upcoming changes in technology from a range of standards development organisations and other technology forums, keeping in mind underlying geopolitical and industrial movements and in particular tracing the trends that may have an impact on the addressing and numbering communities.

The CENTRstats Global TLD Report Q2/2020 has been published. The report covers the status and trends in top-level domains with a focus on European ccTLDs (country code top-level domains). The pdf version of the report can be found here.
CENTR publishes white paper on registry lock models
CENTR has published a white paper separating registry lock services into two standardised models. This categorisation and the included recommendations can help top-level domain registries (re)design their registry lock services. The aim of the paper is to reduce fragmentation in implementation between registries to explain the value of registry lock to domain holders more easily.

Interview with Juan Carlos Zuniga, Sigfox - Sigfox was an early bird in IoT, offering sensor networking for agriculture or logistic methods, luring customers with a full-service package – from the sensors to the network. The French company embraced standardisation for data formats early on and found a place in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Sigfox helped establish the Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) working group (WG), which is now a very European sphere in the IETF. We speak to Juan Carlos Zuniga, who is responsible for the standardisation efforts at Sigfox.
EU Policy Update - June 2020
In a nutshell: The European Commission has revealed more details about the planned reforms on the NIS Directive, the protection of critical infrastructure in the EU, Europol’s strengthened mandate, and the eIDAS Regulation. Additionally, the European Commission is consulting the public on the Digital Services Act and has published its evaluation report of the GDPR. Members of the Stakeholder Cybersecurity Certification Group have been selected. The Council of the EU published its conclusions on EU external action on preventing and countering terrorism and violent extremism. Members of the European Parliament filed amendments for the own-initiative reports on the Digital Services Act.
