CENTR Upgrades CENTRstats Backend

Blog 24-07-2024

CENTR is excited to announce a significant update to its data platform, CENTRstats. The backend of CENTRstats has been upgraded from the old web.py framework to a more robust and professional PHP-based CMS. This transition brings enhanced functionalities for administrators and streamlines various processes, ensuring that the data is more accessible and manageable.

For members, the visible changes to the platform are minimal, maintaining the familiar interface and user experience. However, behind the scenes, the upgrade has brought substantial improvements in efficiency. The new PHP framework allows us to manage and manipulate the data in our databases more effectively, providing quicker responses and enhanced capabilities.

One of the key benefits of this upgrade is the ability to deliver custom data queries more rapidly. If there is specific data that CENTR holds, and you need it in a particular aggregation or with unique filtering and search options, we can now build these queries much faster. This improvement ensures that members can get the precise data they need, tailored to their specific requirements, without unnecessary delays.

Additionally, the new system enhances redundancy and content management. In the old setup, updating system files was quite manual and relied heavily on a small number of administrators with technical skills. Now, with the PHP-based CMS, all staff at CENTR have more control over the content and pages in CENTRstats. This broader access helps with contingency planning by reducing the concentration of responsibility on a few technical administrators and ensuring that more team members can manage and update content as needed.

Thank you for your continued support and trust in CENTRstats. We look forward to delivering even more efficient and tailored data solutions to help you achieve your goals.
