Brussels, 5 August 2024 — CENTR, the association of European country code top-level domain (ccTLD) registries, is excited to announce the public release of the code for its Domain Crawler Project. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and foster innovation within the domain name landscape across Europe.
The CENTR Domain Crawler Project is a powerful tool designed to systematically collect and analyse data on new domain registrations. By making the crawler available under an open source licence, CENTR hopes to encourage collaboration and development within the community, allowing others to build upon and improve this valuable resource.
"The decision to release the Domain Crawler Project code underscores CENTR's commitment to open-source principles and the sharing of knowledge," said Patrick Myles, Data Analyst at CENTR. "We believe that by providing access to the code, we can foster greater innovation and cooperation among registries, registrars, and other stakeholders."
Developers and researchers can now access the crawler’s source code through the following link: https://github.com/CENTRprojects/Signs-of-life. This step is part of CENTR's ongoing efforts to support the domain community with tools and resources that can drive progress and enhance understanding of the domain name ecosystem.
CENTR invites all interested parties to explore and contribute to the project. Feedback and inquiries about the project are welcome and can be directed to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
