In April 2015, the project Digitaly was launched. Organised by the CNA (National Confederation of Artisans and Small and Medium Businesses) in conjunction with the .it Registry, Amazon, Google and Seat Pagine Gialle, it opened its activities in Ravenna. The project focuses on bridging the gap between the digital world and Italian small and medium businesses.
This initiative is aimed at accelerating the growth of the web economy in Italy and supporting the digitalisation process of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). There are about 4 million SMEs in Italy, of which 95% are micro-enterprises. Not only would this process improve their positioning within the domestic market, but it would also push up exports.

There are about 4 million SMEs in Italy, of which 95% are micro-enterprises. Not only would this process improve their positioning within the domestic market, but it would also push up exports.
More specifically, Digitaly aims at accelerating the internationalisation of enterprises and consequently increase exports of the 'product'; it also aims at closing the gap between the traditional Italian-made export products and the digital economy through 'training pills' found online at www.digitalyimprese.it and dozens of dedicated meetings throughout the national territory, wherever traditional companies would open up to 'digital' firms in the same areas.
Over 30 events have already been programmed throughout Italy: the confirmed upcoming dates include 6 May in Pesaro/Ancona, 23 May in Florence, 12 June in Cremona, 27 June in Naples, 9 July in Catania, 22 September in Pescara and 10 October in Pisa.
