Measuring results and data analytics dominate the agenda at CENTR Marketing meeting

News 16-10-2017

On 12-13 October 2107, CENTR held its 24th Marketing Workshop in Zagreb, kindly hosted by CARNet. Close to 30 participants exchanged mainly on how to measure the results of marketing efforts, as well as how to leverage data analytics for marketing and awareness purposes.

In addition to the comprehensive and essential tour de table, the full agenda also included several topics such as content marketing, campaigns, projects for children and youth, as well as data analytics. Following short presentations from several registries, participants got to exchange in smaller groups via an Open Space session.

Participants also got to hear about the data analytics related projects at Norid, as well as DENIC's news DomainID service. The first day was wrapped-up with a marketing material "market place" exchange, where many participants shared about branded items' use and stories.

The second day was kicked-off with an external presentation by Saša Stanković, eCommerce Manager at FOREO, who explained how to measure paid/owned/earned marketing activities. The following session was dedicated to examples of tools currently used by registries to keep track of data (registry and marketing-related data).

Last but not least, David Fowler (CIRA) officially took over the position of Chair of the CENTR Marketing Working Group, following Monika Pink-Rank's (nic.at) resignation. Lut Goedhuys (DNS Belgium) was also elected Vice-Chair of the WG. The group gave a grateful standing ovation to Monika, who had been successfully chairing the WG for the past three years.
