On Thursday 17 September, the Administrative Working Group met online for their autumn workshop. The event was attended by one of the highest number of attendants for a stand-alone workshop, with over 25 registries and many new faces.
The group covered a wide array of topics and used new and varied discussion formats to get the most of this online experience.
The common theme of the meeting was the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Tour de Table of registry updates demonstrated that all registries are coping well with the pandemic and that, whilst it is not easy to have to do everything virtually, it has not all been bad. As well as sharing their experiences with virtual meetings and the tools employed, the registries also discussed the extra checks they are undertaking for Covid-related domain names and talked about the impact of the pandemic on domain growth, registrar relations and more.
